The Mums & Bubs clinic has experienced IBCLC-qualified lactation consultants that offer:

• Antenatal consultations to plan for breastfeeding when there are pregnancy complications (such as gestational diabetes, a small baby, high blood pressure), or after a difficult previous breastfeeding experience.
• Breastfeeding workshops for women and their support person – to arm you with information and confidence, as well as practical tips for both partners in managing those busy weeks with a young baby.
• Breastfeeding consultations for issues ranging from preterm birth, to difficult/painful latching, nipple pain and trauma, milk supply concerns, sleepy babies, mastitis and blocked ducts, to breast refusal, planning for returning to work and more!
• The clinic also has a general practitioner that has undertaken further training to help families with babies and young children to work through settling and sleep issues to find a balance that works for the whole family.
• Maternal health: There are general practitioners specialising in women’s health, that can help with postpartum checks, family planning and any bladder, bowel or pelvic floor issues mental health.

The Obstetric Medicines Information Service, based at King Edward Memorial Hospital, has specialist pharmacists that can provide free, up-to-date, evidence-based information about the safe use of medicines in pregnancy and breastfeeding, including:

Feed Safe contains answers to the most common questions about alcohol and breastfeeding, with information from Australia's most trusted experts. Feed Safe includes a timer. If you decide to have an occasional drink, the app uses your height, weight and alcohol intake to accurately estimate when your breastmilk should be free of alcohol, and alert you when this time has been reached. It is based on the latest research, and the official guidelines of Australia's peak health and medical research body, the National Health and Medical Research Council.

The BASIS website provides access to research based evidence about biologically normal infant sleep, produced by Prof Helen Ball and her at Durham University. The website explains the typical sleep of babies who are exclusively or predominantly breastfed to at least 6 months of age and cared for in a responsive manner.
